I started taking birth control pills *low hormones* for 2 weeks now and yesterday I started my period and it's heavy... Is this normal?

It's possible you're having breakthrough bleeding because the hormones are too low for you. Wait it out and see if next pack you get your period during the placebo week instead of during the active pills.
