Sushi lovers did you eat sushi while pregnant?

I'm craving it bad😭 and my doctor said Its no no but I've herd different doctors say different things. Hell I'd be okay with like half a roll of snowcrab right now😩

You can eat cooked sushi. It's totally fine. When you order just ask them to recommend completely cooked sushi because you're pregnant.

Fish restrictions are primarily a US concern. I've read a few articles that say it's fine, think of cultures with fish based diets. Fish is my main meat source and if I only eat it twice a week, I find myself feeling weak and anemic. My partner and I decided not to focus and freak out about all the restrictions, baby tells me when she doesn't like what I'm doing anyway! If I do eat something like poke, I make sure I trust the restaurant.

I'm staying away from it just to be safe, but I've read cooked sushi is safe, but I've also read that if the raw fish has been frozen properly that it's safe to eat certain kinds like salmon.

It can hurt the baby because of the stuff it can carry in it. My brothers a Dr so I had talked to him about it on a sibling level opposed to Dr patient level. He said make sure its thoroughly cooked and to wait until your out of your first trimester if you really just have to eat it. No more then 2 times a week. But overall, its frowned upon because it can give your baby sicknesses, even if you don't feel anything, baby is more receptable to those kinda things. Hope this helped!
