Breast milk shortage?

Ok so King is 3wks now and I've been exclusively breastfeeding. I FINALLY got a pump today, and I've pumped 3 times. The first time I got about 3oz from one tit, almost a oz from the other. Each time after it was less and less. He just woke up and I didn't have a bottle ready so I put him on my breast and he barely got any out of either breast. I ended up giving him formula for the first time. Anybody else have random shortage? I've been eating regularly all day so I'm sure that's not it

How long before trying to feed him did you pump? In case it was just before, try to always pump after or in place of a feeding, never right before.

Pump after your baby feeds. Or pump one Brest have the baby on the other. And when the baby is done on that side switch. You don't have to fill a bottle up right away. Your milk is good to leav out for 4 hours not cold. And up to 4-5 days in the fridge before freezing. so you can keep filling the bottle.

Had you just pumped before putting him on? How long did you give him? Babies can get what they need from a boob you may just need to give him some time. You'll kill your supply of you keep supplementing like that.
