Belly button pus?

My baby's umbilical cord stump is hanging by a thread (10 days old), behind it looks like there is some pus... Normal or not?

My baby's umbilical corswasbleedinf and kind of has a stench to it... I called the peditrician and she said it's completely normal... And to try and swab with alcohol

If there is a smell to it then I would be worried. Also watch for red streaking. Otherwise, sounds normal. My sons looked like there was pus too but it actually wasn't just normal fluids.

Sounds normal it's just mucus. Pediatrician told me to use neosporin to help heal faster

Doesn't sound normal. I'd ask the pediatrician. Better to be safe than sorry. Our pediatrician ended up having to use silver nitrate on my daughter's belly button because it was close to starting to get infected. I felt so bad about it!
