I was 21. Just a year ago pregnant w my first child. I'm about 5'3 120lbs. Tiny belly & 2 weeks before expected delivery I woke up w the smallest cramps. Around 4pm they got worse & I headed to the hospital. They told me I was 5cm dilated & I had to stay. No extra clothes or baby clothes. Nothing. I stayed in a ghetto recovery room full of new mommies in pain. & w the company of my irritating mother I, involuntary meds-free, endured 5 more hours of contractions. They rolled me to a room where my water broke & in 20 minutes my 4lb 7oz baby boy was born. Healthy & strong enough to avoid NICU. My SO missed the whole thing but it was an amazing moment. I was so tiny and young I thought I wouldn't be able to do it.
