Induction and balloon?!

Question

I'm 38w6d and on Tuesday when I'm 39w4d I'm going to be given the balloon if I don't go into labor by then. I only just recently heard about this balloon thing, what should I expect? From what my doctor said I will get the balloon and then the following day I will get induced. I'm getting really nervous...

You won't feel a thing. I had it with my first. The main thing I remembered was the nurse coming in probably 1/2 hour to hour after having it placed in and she asked how I felt, and I said "it feels like it fell out". She got a weird look and asked what do you mean. So I said it again. She's like okay, let's see. Sure enough it did because I went from 0 cm to 3 in that short time. And don't worry about being induced. Every woman's reaction is different. I've been pregnant 4 times and ALL four have been induced. The meds don't hurt any more than menstral cramps.
