Heartbreaking.
I'm 18 weeks 5 days today. I went to the ob for an ultrasound to find out the gender. The doctor came in the room after and said she needed us in her office. She said the baby has undeveloped kidneys which isn't causing the baby to pee which also means there's not enough amniotic fluid for the baby to move and everything. They sent us over to Boston and the doctor said the baby doesn't have a chance of survival. The baby has multiple cysts of both of its kidneys. They couldn't even tell us the gender because there was barely any amniotic fluid. We are now going on Thursday to terminate the pregnancy. She said the only way the baby is servicing is because of me (the umbilical cord). If the baby was to stay in my stomach then when it's born when they cut the umbilical cord it would stop breathing. Has anyone else had to deal with such a heart wrenching situation?
