C-section birth plan??

Do I have to have a birth plan for a scheduled c-section? What would I put in it??

Find out if they will put the baby immediately on your chest for the exam (my hospital does this) versus placing baby in incubator and carting away. Other things to consider: how many people are allowed in the room? If your partner goes with baby to the nursery, you are alone and I hear that can be depressing. Can they still safely delay cord clamping? Do you want to watch or be updated with what's going on? Do you want your own music playing? Yes, you can still have a birth plan!

You don't have to do anything. But, I'm having (hopefully) an unmedicated vaginal birth,  and i still have a separate birth plan for if I have a c section. I included things like,  
- skin to skin ASAP
- delayed cord clamping
- Breastfeeding asap
- baby and SO to follow me to recovery
- no narcotics that will interfere with breastfeeding 
- no visitors until I'm in the maternity ward (so not in surgical recovery)
- no eye drops
- doula present (my hospital has been known to give on this 2x, abd I fully intend to insist, especially if it's not an emergency)

A lot of people think that birth plans are for idiots who think they can force nature to take a certain path - but nature and circumstances will not dictate what decisions the hospital makes when you give them 0 prefrences.... your lack of decisions and prefrences will be filled with whatever the "protocol" is.

I'm in the UK, c/s booked for 23/12 n my mw has put on mine that if it's possible my other half is to be given the option to cut cord. It's my 4th (3rd section)his 2nd n I'm having my tubes done too. So he won't get another chance. But I no that if any complications arise it won't b discussed  they will just get it done n dusted.
