Our little boy has arrived
Callen James arrived on December 11th at 8:17 pm. Went to the hospital on December 10th at 9:30 for a scheduled induction. They started the induction and I started contractions quickly, no dialation at all. Next morning woke up at 6 am with lots of contractions, still no dialation so my doctor inserted a balloon to help dialate my cervix. That part was really painful, and took about 10 minutes to get inserted. Once the balloon was in they begin pitocen, the combo was pretty intense. I kept throwing up because the pain was so bad, I never expected contractions to hurt that bad, the nurse said I was having them for 90 seconds with a 5 second rest between. I didn't initially want an epidural but after two hours of these contractions I needed one! The epidural was being put in when I had a really strong contraction and I threw up, the baby's heart rate dropped a lot so they had told me it might be emergency c-section, super scary! They ended up getting babys heart rate back up. After 20 hours of labor- pushed for 40 minutes and here he is! Worth every ounce of pain - so madly in love!
