Induction - Am I doing the right thing??

Question

Just scheduled induction for 39 weeks, on Monday.  Feeling a lot different emotions. It's very exciting to know that's the day and I'll be holding my baby in four days, but at the same time I keep wondering am I doing the right thing. People keep asking, why are you doing that? It's making me question whether or not it's the right thing to do. 😩 
Anyone else feel this way?

I'm electively being induced on Monday morning. My due date is 12/28 and I'm doing it at exactly 39 weeks. She won't let me go past my due date anyways, and I want to be home for Christmas for sure with my son. So it's my choice. I do have weird feelings about it, because I've done it before (the first time was for health reasons though). Just reminding myself that no matter what, the outcome is my baby in my arms. 4 days 💙💙

I think you're the mom and deep down you know. There are many circumstances both ways and you can't possibly know what way its going to go. A lot of naturally delivered babies have issues too, just like lots of babies who are induced have no issues. Just make sure you're comfortable with the decision and don't let anyone sway you. More likely than not, if you've had a good pregnancy, no high risk issues and you trust your doctors judgement on him letting you being induced then go for it girl, that baby will be just fine and happy when he/she comes out.

Why are you having the induction before your due date? If not medically necessary I don't understand the rush and not waiting to see if your body will do it. Sometimes forcing it only makes the process longer and it can result in a failed induction or c section if they break your water.

Just so you know , forcing your baby out before its ready leads to alot of unnecessary intervention, so ask yourself 
  R u  really ok with getting cut open , having a c-section having a catheter, getting an epidural , being bed bound and opening your body to risk of infection.? Sorry to sound harsh but please think about that.

I definitely know what you're going through. I'm due the 26th and going in to get induced on the 23rd. Healthy pregnancy and healthy baby, I'm just doing it to be home with my baby for Christmas and so I can plan for my mother who is out of state to be there. As soon as I made the decision, I questioned if I was doing the right thing. But at the end of the day it's your choice and your doctor isn't going to put you and your baby in a dangerous position.

I'm asking for it. My doctor doesn't want me to go a day past the due date (12/27) and I do have hyperactive anxiety issues, gestational diabetes and major amount of pain. I want to ask for Monday I'll be 39.1:) I hope doc goes for it. I do have mixed feelings as with my first it was all natural and no issues or complications. This time around I've thought I was going to die since 30 weeks:/ 
So, all in all its ok to ask and just be prepared for their opinions, cuz they will say them.

I'm feeling the same way. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and at 40.1 were doing a csection. I was going to try VBAC but I'm just done being pregnant. I feel like I'm being selfish and questioning if I'm doing the right thing too. I have a 2 year old and I want to be home for Christmas with him.

i was induced last dec 13 but i ended up c section..

I was scheduled for induction on 9th also had mixed feelings thankfully my water broke on its own but labor did last 20 hours so had him at 12:02am on 9th lol do what's best for you I had such s horrible last couple of weeks that I wanted to do it even feeling weird about it good luck :)

Your doctor's guidance is the best. I am scheduled for 12/23 (a day before my due date) since baby is measuring quite big but not c-section big. They want to avoid shoulder dystocia.
