Giving birth.. The aftermath?

Hello Ladies, How is everyone feeling after giving birth? Lady bits, are they doing ok? How long did you take or taking "off" of doing regular stuff at home? A little background: This is my second child, with my first I didn't do mostly anything for about 2-3 weeks. My mom helped me with everything. With this birth, my mom isn't around so I'm just wondering how am I going to manage. I'm getting induced this weekend (Friday or Saturday). My fiancée birthday is on the 22nd (which is also my due date), but my MIL is inviting us over for dinner and she's having his other kids and nephews over (3 from a previous relationship) I just don't feel "up" for it I guess. Don't feel like dealing with commotion. I asked my fiancé if we can skip it and just see everyone Xmas Eve but he's saying we'll probably go. I just don't know how much pain I'll still be in, or how well I'll be adjusting. So how's everyone feeling after giving birth? Is 3 days not enough recovery time to be out at MIL'S house for dinner? 😟😱😨

My lady bits are almost non-existing! I had a complicated birth with my daughter. After 36 hours of labor I became fully dilated, I began pushing and after 2 hours of pushing when my Dr checked my cervix I almost immediately got edema on my vagina! (Yep, it's possible.) My bits got so swollen there was no way I was going to be able to push my baby out. So ended up having to have an emergency c-section. Having to recover from both ends is hard! Thankfully I am so blessed to have my SO helping me with everything (I DO MEAN EVERYTHING 🙄) No baths allowed to reduce my swelling on my lower bottom because of my incision. No driving for 2 weeks, no carrying heavy items. Basically helpless for the next 6 weeks. 😩 To top it off I became anemic. 😥 So here's to a speedy recovery. My peanut was definitely worth it.

My first I had helpers the whole first month. This time I was up doing housework 3 days later and out doing shopping too.

I feel 100% better this go round and I think it is because I didn't sit around for weeks.

You'll be more exhausted and adjusting to life with two kids than being sore, I wouldn't go over if it's 3days, my concern is having the baby exposed to so many ppl I get paroniod about that... I'm sure he'll be ok if he goes for a little without you and take your oldest while you get some rest with the baby.

Would he consider allowing the baby and you stay home and him making an appearance? Your going to be 3 days fresh from giving birth and your newborn really shouldn't be exposed to so many people at 3 days old. Lol I'd refuse to go but that's just me. Men don't seem to understand the trauma labor causes to our bodies and how the first few weeks are adjustments and healing. No one wants to deal with a bunch of people after just giving birth.

I'm a week out and feel pretty good I do have stitches in my lady parts and get tired but feel so much better then I did at end of pregnancy that I feel like a new woman it took about 4 days , I'm taking a month off work I wouldn't have my new baby around a bunch of people especially this time of year good luck :)

I had my son Novemeber 23. I got out the hospital on the 25. I was over at my moms and my aunts house on Thanksgiving (with was the next day). I was never really "sore" & I was able to do a lot of things I used to, just a bit slower.

I delivered the 11th, and had 2nd degree tears. I am now just able to sit somewhat normal.  Still swollen and sore, and if I do to much it just gets worse.  This is my first baby so I am hoping if I usage another delivery and recovery will be quicker.

With my first I was out and about the day after we were released from the hospital. I had no problems getting around and doing what I needed to. I had an episiotomy and got hemorrhoids from pushing and it was uncomfortable but in no way kept me from doing things. I've heard the more you get up and moving the better it is for you.

I had a similar experience with my first 5 years ago and I was in pain for nearly a month and gave birth to my 2nd 1 week and 3 days ago. My lady bits were surprisingly swollen for only about 4 days and I did force myself to go to my sons 15 minute Christmas performance at 4 days PP and we were only out for an hour. They aren't swollen or hurting to date. I'm bleeding very light now and I can do more, I'm just exhausted from adjusting to having 2 children and lack of rest. I haven't done much since the performance except a trip to target and to the grocery store. Also I've asked family and friends to give me some space so that helps too...being around too many people irritates me... But I know it's hormones and me being so exhausted I'm just not up for conversations right now. I only wanna snuggle with my babies all day lol.

I haven't given birth yet but my husband has already said that if we have him before Christmas, we won't be going to any Christmas dinners unless I'm absolutely sure I'm up for it. We're both also just nervous about germs and stuff. Three of our nephews always seem to be sick with something and most recently, had pink eye. Then my sister in law (nephews mom) had an upper respiratory virus. My stepdaughter seems to get sick if someone sneezes or coughs a mile away from her. Only ever two Christmas dinners I never want to go to and they're both on my husbands side.😔 both have the nephews that always seem to be sick and one has my father in law and husbands aunt who are basically chain smokers and I don't want our son around that.
