I am confused on how my cervix has two different measurements. The external(part inside the vagina) is 4cm the internal(connected to the uterus) is only 1cm. Does this mean that once my internal starts dilating it'll go faster or that it'll have less support and start opening more as my external part of my cervix opens? My doctor didn't really explain anything but told me she saw me going into labor on my own. (Without pitocin)
