False positive?

Just wanted to get opinions...I am due to have my hcg blood work drawn tomorrow (2 weeks after having iui). I know you're not supposed to take a home test or try not to. If you do, can it still be false positive even just a day before bloodwork is done? Or if it's positive is it really positive?

If it's the day before your bloodwork, a positive would be real. However, the bloodwork will help confirm if it is a viable pregnancy versus a chemical. I tested positive the day before my beta after IVF and got a positive. Prepared my surprise for my husband but did not tell him I was pregnant until I got the numbers from my RE the next day.
