Is it true ? Antibiotic macrobid bad?

I am terrified almost in tears!!!! I need some advice and personal experiences shared plz! I have been diagnosed with a UTI and prescribed macrobid! I have been doing some research and I found that it causes birth defects! The doctor told me it didn't cause any birth defects to take it! I am 17 weeks pregnant! I feel stressed!

I took it my last pregnancy two or three times. Your ob wouldn't prescribe you something that wasn't safe plus sadly when baby's are born with birth defects there's a need to find something to blame it on. It's impossible to say what caused them over a course of 9 months of pregnancy. I was only told not to take them in the third trimester or while breastfeeding anytime before that was fine. My daughter is beautiful and healthy!

I've never used it, but I do know there's a lot of medications that before 12 weeks can cause birth defects. But in the second trimester they are safe.

Look up home remedies one is putting a garlic clove covered in cotton tied with floss in there. Also colloidal silver is an amazing antibiotic but that you may just have to let sit under your tongue.

I also took macrobid twice during my first pregnancy and my son is perfectly happy and healthy :) he is almost two now! Hope that makes you feel better!
