I just did the AFP blood test to help detect possible genetic problems. I did it Tuesday after hearing my baby's heartbeat on just the Doppler at my doc office. I was so worked up about the app I forgot to ask how long does it take for the results! So can anyone provide some input on that?

Its the only genetic test I've been advised to take.....so far...and I was also wondering why my doc didn't do an ultrasound to check for anything that might be off?? I was 13.3 when I went in for this appointment. I'm not going back until JAN 11...where I'll be close to 17 weeks. I'm assuming if the test results come back with a risk I'll go in sooner????
