Kick starting lactation for what?!

I read an article on women who will kick start lactation in order to quit to amp their fertility. Is this really possible?!

No. Lactation suppresses fertility and can cause your periods to stop.

I don't see how that would work. I'm lactating and haven't had a cycle at all since I had my daughter 3 months ago.
