Too late to stay home?

Question

37 weeks yesterday, still trying to talk my husband into staying home rather than going to the hospital. Completely uncomplicated pregnancy and midwives are available in the area (within 30-45 min from our house) to attend a home birth. Anyone have any last ditch effort tactics into talking husband into it?

Have him watch The Business of Being Born with you (full movies on YouTube for free!)  It's so informative and eye opening. Then have him attend a consultation with a home midwife with you and hopefully she can answer any questions and provide reassurance.

I switched to a home birth at around 30 weeks, but they said women do this as early as a few days before labor. It's completely worth giving it a try. I told my husband how I was nervous I would progress, then either slow down or regress because of the anxiety of driving to the center/being in a new place.

It's a lot more affordable, we don't have to put the baby in a car seat and drive her home, and you and him both can feel comfortable at home.
