How long did you wait to have sex after having a colposcopy?

My send home instructions said two days, but I'm pretty sure my doctor said four weeks???

She found two spots and did do a cervical biopsy

I only waited 3 days. I had a biopsy with the colposcopy but I didn't bleed at all, even during the procedure, so my doc said as long as I wasn't bleeding in a few days of be fine but if there was any spotting to wait until it's over.

I was told to wait a week for sex cause it increases the chance for infection

I can't remember the time frame but it's been almost a year 4 spots was removed but returned and sex is still extremely painful

A colpo isn't really a procedure they just use the speculum to open you up and look at your cervix with the microscope so once you feel up to it

Did you have a biopsy? Unless you had a biopsy you don't need to wait.

I waited about a week with both of mine and I also biopsies. Four weeks is extreme. I would advice to wait until you are no longer sore and are not bleeding or shedding the iodine.

I'm pretty sure it's not 4 weeks as I don't remember being told to wait at all, I was pretty sore after mine but I don't remember waiting long
