Should an ex who cheated on their fiance still be in contact with his family if they gave him Herpes?

I'm not talking about, "happy holidays," or "have a good birthday," I mean sending his mother, "I can't live without him," after a year.

She cheated for who knows how long, gave him a STD, and acts like her life is over because a year ago he broke up with her.

She continuously messages his family and still tries to be part of their life, (unsuccessfully because they disliked her all of their relationship,) while they don't want to have her hurt herself but their son is getting fed up with the amount of pity she gets because they feel bad for her.
