Sleep paralysis, has anyone experienced this?

I've experienced this a lot the last few months. It freaks me out. I hear horrible things going on around me that aren't really happening and my eyes are open, but I can't move, I can't speak. I've been working on being able to wake myself up out of it. It sucks.

This is so crazy! I never knew that this had a name! I have had his happen to me my whole life on and off! I wake up and I can't move , I'm completely frozen like a force is pushing down on me, I can still hear what is going on around me and everything, my breathing gets worse and worse the longer it goes on , so I literally have to use my whole strength - mind and body- to snap out of it. It is one of he hardest things to do - getting myself out of that horrible trance like state. I hate it and it scares me so bad everytime it happens!

One time, shortly after a trauma. I woke up, I couldn't move, couldn't even turn my head, couldn't breathe, I was just frozen. It was terrifying and I hope to God it never, ever happens again.

I used to get this a lot, less so now, but I've had it enough times for it not to worry me anymore because I now recognise it for what it is the minute it happens. I find the more I struggle against it, the more it scares or frustrates me. If I lay there really calmly and try to relax, it just kind of melts aways and is all over fairly soon.

I get sleep paralysis when i haven't had enough sleep. It happened to me a few nights ago, actually... I opened my eyes, couldn't move, and all i saw was this creepy hand crawling slowly toward my face. I tried to scream (knowing i couldn't). Needless to say, i freaked. 😩

Mom says "the devil is sitting on you" when that happens. It's superstition really. Like if you talk in your sleep then a witch is sitting on your back. I experienced sleep paralysis once. Never again. I freaked out and had a panic attack. Luckily my dog saw what was wrong and got my parents. They calmed me down and then like a hour or less later I had full function of my body. To me it's frightening.

All the time. I'll feel myself awake but can't move or open my eyes. It scares me but it usually happens when I need to get up to get my son.
