Military?

Question

My sons father and I aren't together. 
He called me and told me he's joining the military for my son to have a "better life"

Is there anything I should be worried about? Like can he take my son away from me just because he's military?

There's nothing I can think of  that you should worry about. Even if he wanted to try, He's not likely to get custody because of deployments and field training would require him to be absent for extended periods of time.

Sounds like he just wants to make s change in his life, get better health insurance for your son, maybe set it up so your son can use his GI Bill in the future for college.

No, maybe he thinks he will earn more in the military to provide for him for the future. Or he could think that being out of the picture will have a better impact on his life.
Never know what goes through guys minds!
He doesn't have any special privileges regarding custody in the military

him being in the military will give your son benefits. His father not only will get good medical benefits but he can opt for your son to get those as well.

They won't take him away. He would be way to busy to be able to gain custody. Don't worry about it. Support his decision and leave it at that
