My sister do cakes for a living so my husband ordered his mom a birthday cake  a week before Christmas because her birthday is on Christmas. We paid her $65 for a chocolate cake white icing. On Christmas morning she text us a picture of a purple and orange cake with flowers nothing like what we ordered,when I called her she got upset and said she used what she had and i told her icing cost $1.69 so I don't understand why the color would be off. Later that day I went to get the cake and she didn't answer but start texting all kinds if evil and negative things about his sick mom my sick daughter  and our relationship I was so pissed because I couldn't understand wtf was her problem so I called her she didn't answer so I text her im done with her and Idgaf if we are sister's I think she went to far especially when she been messing up orders left and right. And she's think cause she's 10 years older she can bully me and disrespected my man this the last time tho im done im 30yrs grown.   Now she's saying its petty to complain. Lol DO YOU THINK ITS PETTY FOR ME TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CAKE AND WANTING HER TO FIX IT??? SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY.

$65 is a lot of money. I charge that for a full fondant cake. She's SERIOUSLY ripping you off. I don't even charge my family for cakes. All of my cakes are from scratch too. I think you should just not order from her. Wow, I am baffled at her. Sorry your cake was messed up. Can you post a pic of it?

65 for an icing only cake is a lot. Unless she is adding crazy decorations that alone, as a family member, is ripping you off.

On top of that, if she is charging you then it is her job to give you what you ordered. Unless you have her free reign which it doesn't sound like you did. If you went to a bakery and ordered a cake and it was wrong they would either fix it or return your money.

It sounds as if your sister is using you. I wouldn't buy from her in the future. You can probably get a cheaper cake, to your specifications, elsewhere.

Your sister is clearly wrong. The fact that she's being so aggressive and defensive about it will make it hard to move on from this and have a relationship. I don't think you should end your relationship, but I do think you should take some "time off" to cool down because you're not getting your money back. Maybe in time you can start over?
