Help! Formula problem

So I breast feed but I don't have very much milk so I also give formula they started off with Similac Advance (blue) in the hospital before my milk came in so I continued with it but i noticed it made my baby really fussy and gassy so I switched to Similac Sensitive (orange) and it did the same along with making her constipated, so I am now trying Similac Total Comfort (purple) and emmediately noticed she has diarrhea I'm just sick of seeing her so uncomfortable my poor baby any suggestions???

You can keep supplementing but if you have a pump, try to pump after each session of feeding her or in between her feeding so the demand for milk will increase resulting in you producing more milk if you want to try to go back to just breastfeeding. You can also take fenugreek to help boost your supply. Good luck!

Stop supplementing. The more you supplement and the less your baby stimulates your nipples, the less milk your body will think it needs to make.

Don't feel guilty for not being able to breast feed! That's the first thing. We all have different reasons we can or can't. It sounds like you are doing your best! Similac sensitive worked for us. Lots of mylicon gas drops and tummy massages.

Once my milk came in I had to be put on a steroid for a week and couldn't give her my milk so it sucked now that I can breastfeed I don't have much milk so she gets super fussy cause she's still hungry and it doesn't help she had time to get used to the formula I didn't want to give her it

Use generic similac. Similac creates a lot of air. We switched to generic (also swirl not shake formula) and it make a big difference. Also don't let anyone shame you on formula if your not producing enough. I had to pump all day to get 2oz so I know what it's like and I get so ticked off at moms trying to shame a mother who's body isn't producing.

I had problems producing milk at first and then dried up at 4 mths even tho I was only breast feeding. I felt ashamed and like a failure because so many women try to shame you.

Like others have suggested, I'd try a different brand. Similac sensitive worked great for my first, but all babies are different. Also try to give her at least a week or two for her tummy to adjust. I would not do soy unless absolutely nothing else works. Look up soy and it's link to estrogen/reproductive issues.

Our hospital offered Gerber good start gentle and it worked fine for us. We later switched to an organic brand. I would read up on soy and talk to your pediatrician before trying a soy based formula as I've heard several concerns about soy formulas.

I'll look into it thank you so much!

You may have to branch out to other brands. My sons tummy didn't like Similac either, we switched to enfamil and didn't have a problem. Not all formula brands are equal, it's a lot of trial and error to find what works best.

I tried all the name brand formulas that had gentle ease or for sensitive tummy but the one thing that worked for me for Walmart's Parent Choice Sensitivity.

I had to supplement with my first due to medical issues he had. We found that soy formula was the easiest for him to use and closest to having no irritants. I would try a soy based and see how your little one does :)

Yes exactly why I had to give her formula I was so upset then my milk wasn't even coming just yet & she needed to eat in order to poop and pee the doctor said so I just okay' the formula but I'll look into the soy thank you so much

I suggest speaking with your pedi regarding switching formulas. Some kids it won't affect some need weening depends on your pedi. It also takes a couple days on a formula to see how your child reacts sometimes.
