Water birth and gestational diabetes?

I checked my results on my doctors app, and based on the numbers, I have GD. I'm devastated! My midwife will probably call me Monday about it, but I am curious if any of you know. 
Can I have a natural water birth while having Gestational diabetes? I really really want to have a water birth. Or at least labor in the tub as long as possible then deliver outside of the tub. Are they just going to shut down my request no matter what?

When i asked for options other than an epidural,  they suggested the tub, so i think it is totally a possibility if thats what you want 😉

Depending on some things they may have you deliver early by being induced for safety for you and baby. But you should still be able to labor the way u want.

You probably will have to deliver more conventionally but my hospital had spa tubs in the labor rooms so I did some of my labor in the tub as well. I had two pregnancies with GD. :)
