What do contractions feel like

Im 38 weeks now. Its my first pregnancy and i wonder or really dont know what contractions feel like.
Any help?

To me, I felt like the baby was curling into a tight ball in my stomach and my stomach would get really hard for about 45 seconds or so. Then it would gradually go down.

Really bad period cramps. I also think it felt like getting a tattoo over a sunburn.

Real labor contractions start in the lower back and wrap around to the front. Your whole abdomen may feel hard, and you may also have cramping. They last around 1-2 minutes and come every 5 minutes or less. They don't stop no matter what you do. You'll feel quite uncomfortable.

You'll get several of practice ones before the real ones. These will diminish after drinking water, walking around, or resting on your side.

For me, my stomach would get hard and feel stiff, feel really heavy, and hurt all at the same time.
