I love you

Me and my boyfriend of two years said I love you to each other 7 months in. I never doubt his love and affection for me and he doesn't doubt me either. however, we never say it to each other. Ive asked him if he's not comfortable saying it and he says he has no problem with it but he rarely says it. That in turn makes me not want to say I love you often. I'm usually a person that would say it every day. Its been more than a week since we said I love you to each other. I don't think I'm too bothered that we don't say I love you everyday. But is it weird?? Are there other couples out there that are the same way??
