IVF Treatment

Kerri

I am 41 years old and ttc #1

I am seeing a fertility specialist. I have done the required tests (hsg, blood tests, etc.) and 2 ultrasounds. My partner took a sperm count test. All tests are good. My ovaries and uterus looked good in the ultrasound taken by the specialist. I live in Canada so we are not covered for IVF treatment. Specialist said the best odds for us to become pregnant is with IVF at this point. For those who have went the IVF route did your partner have to pay for a sperm upstream test. And then if that test was ok have to go in for lapo surgery? My specialist says all of this has to be done before we do the IVF treatment. I just don't want to be suckered in to be paying for this all and it is not required before the surgery?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks
