Breast as pacifier

My 1 week old has been very gassy. We have had multiple rough nights now where she will initially cry because she has discomfort from gas and after constant burping and rekease, she is so riled up that she won't go to sleep. She continuously asks for breast when I know she is not hungry. I think she is using my breast as a pacifier. I am tired and don't know how much longer if this can be taken😣 any longer.. As I am at my wits end. When does it all start getting better? What can I do to avoid gas, I burp her and I have been careful of what I eat. If the baby is inconsolable, what else can I do other than burping her, cuddling and waiting for spring colldction thank!
