Is Snowboarding Safe?!

Hello! I am 4 weeks pregnant and going snowboarding for New Years, I don't see the doctor for 2 more weeks and was concerned about going snowboarding in the next couple of days. I've been snowboarding for years, but of course can't control others on the mountain and don't know if I would be putting the pregnancy at risk? Thanks!

It makes sense to avoid sports where falls are common in the second and third trimesters, but in the first one your baby is so small that it seems unlikely to feel anything even if you do fall or have some impact to your stomach.  Imagine trying to smush a tomato seed inside a thickly padded bag...

Stuff I've read says you can do sports normally in the first trimester. Ask your doctor though, obvi.

A coworker just went skiing at 6 weeks. I cut out my dangerous hobbies just to be safe. I also just got kicked in the stomach and none of the doctors seem worried and said I would have to pretty much break my pelvis to affect the baby.

I am a skier and I was told I can ski the first trimester. I went skiing at 3W 5D and I felt fine. It depends on your comfort level too I think.

Congratulations! I'm no expert (I'm 4 weeks with my first baby) but I would imagine that your doctor would say no to snowboarding. I've ski and board and I would imagine that an awkward fall could potentially be dangerous. 
I'm no expert; that's just my gut feeling. Why don't you call your OBGYN or doctor before you go.
