Does sex delay your period?

Question

I lost my virginity about 6 weeks ago and I'm now 3 weeks late on my period. I've taken 3 pregnancy test all of which have shown I wasn't pregnant. This led me to think that maybe the sex delayed it, what do you think?

Sex doesn't delay periods. Many other things can affect periods though: stress, hormones from birth control, illness, plan B pill (but it only affects that next period, not all periods after that one), being underweight or overweight, losing or gaining weight very quickly, certain medications, health problems, your cycle synching with another woman, pregnancy and menopause. If you are concerned, you should see your gynecologist.
