So I went for my 38 week checkup and my doctor offered to check my cervix. I said sure. After what seemed like an excessively long and painful exam, I said "that really hurts." Her response... "I'm sweeping your membrane. The race is on for who's going to deliver the first New Years baby." Now I know some people elect to have that done, and I'm not here to pass any judgment. The problem is that she didn't even ask if I wanted her to do that. Now I'm in pain and pissed because she swept my membrane even though my son is still all the way up in my ribcage and not due for another 2 weeks. I guess we'll see if she gets the satisfaction of delivering the first New Years baby...😡
