Is it normal to not be seen til 12 weeks

Last Valentine's Day I miscarried and now I'm worried I'll miscarry again and doctors at my clinic don't even see you til you're  12weeks... I just found out I was pregnant and when I call to schedule an appointment all they will do is ask when my LMP was and then schedule a phone appointment for 10weeks and the 12 week visit .. When I was pregnant with my son in 2012 they saw me way before that.. Wondering if it's because I've had a child already or because they changed when they see people...
