I stay home, so pumping has never worked out for me. Neither of my children has accepted a bottle or a pacifier. I have tried, on the days we wanted a date night; and we always end up having to take a newborn with us, or checking in after dinner to nurse and then go back out. But newborns nurse so often and many times just like to be latched.

I feel like this is a topic that you really just have to try out for yourself. Every mothers nursing experience is different; and I know if you exclusively pump, it can be hard to keep up supply because the pump is sub par to the efficiency of a baby.

However it turns out for you, try not to feel discouraged if nursing doesn't work out the way you hope it will. It is super easy for some (like me), but not for everyone. Just remember that as long as you have a happy fed baby, you are doing things right :)
