Tourette's Syndrome?
So for the past year and a half, I've noticed (and other people) that I've recently developed this vocal tic. I've known about physical tics, believe me I've had one since I was like ten; I'll be doing something, just an everyday activity, and then suddenly my neck will just jerk to the side, sometimes my shoulders will jam with it, or my jaw will lock.
But now my family and friends have begun to point out a vocal tic: I thought it just came out of maybe over excitement or extreme anxiety, but I will be going through my day, and all of a sudden, I will make this high pitched noise. Mostly it's a squeal, sometimes it sounds like a baby eagle squawking. There is no pattern, some days I will only do it two to three times a day, some days it just doesn't happen, other days it'll happen up to five times an hour (I am a student in highschool. This is pleasant when you do this during finals. Note my sarcasm.)
I don't know what to do about it. Would I go to a psychiatrist? I feel I should maybe just go to my counselor and ask about it?
