20 weeks = banana?

Question

Ok so last week was a mango and 6 inches and this week baby is a banana and 10 inches?!? Really?
Another app i have says baby is 6.5inches. That growth rate seems a bit more realistic. Why the sudden change? Does the measurement include legs now?

Instead of measuring from crown to rump it measures from crown to heal, that's why it seems so crazy

Ok i guess that must be it then. Altho i assume this is now going to be based just on average height baby. I'm 5ft9 and my hubby is 6ft2 so our baby will be long!!

My app said that before week 20 they do not include the legs bc the baby is still curled up so they cant really measure them... But after week 20 they start measuring the legs as well!!! Thats y its such a big diff :)!!

I know mine is definitely an estimate as far as weight (but ultrasounds are hardly accurate either). I was told he was a pound at our anatomy scan at 21 weeks +1. I'll be 23 tomorrow and this app is just now putting him at 1 lb.

It's only an estimate. Baby can be shorter or taller than the estimate. But this is only the average size of babies that far along!

lol I was shocked to but before 20 weeks baby is only measured head to rump and then at 20weeks they start to measure head to feet. I was so shocked to see baby grew so much but I read more about it and it made more sense lol

This is true! I checked it out yesterday and thought 'wtf how does anything grow like 4" in a week'. It is head to toe from 20 weeks on because before that they are typically curled up with their legs tucked in

At my 20 week ultrasound they said they no longer do the 'crown to rump' measurement, so I assumed the massive change this week was because legs are now included.
