When to go to the Ob/Gyn?

So ladies I'm not to sure when to go to the doctor. I've been told to wait till 12weeks then it got told to go ASAP I'm just confused on what to do should I wait or should I go?

In no way am I suggesting this will happen to you! But....

When I got pregnant last time, I went in immediately. I had the initial meeting, two blood tests, a sonogram.....and then two more blood tests and another sonogram......all for them to tell me I was going to miscarry. There was nothing anyone could have done. I took the prenatals and did everything right and still lost it. Now I'm $500 poorer with nothing to show for it.

Fast forward to now, I THINK I'm pregnant again and I'm not going to go to the docs until I'm at least 8 weeks.

You should call right away, they will schedule you're appointment according to their office's guidelines. But getting an appt is sometimes hard depending on your schedule and their hours so call right away to see how that office handles it. We went at 8wks so not all offices are the same.

Call the doctor and they'll tell you when they'll see you, usually 8 weeks or later so they can check the heartbeat. Unless they want to confirm the pregnancy then they'll see you quicker, just to get a blood test and say yup, pregnant.

Nicole is right. Call now and they will ask when the first day of your last period was and go from there. My doctor made me wait until I was 8 weeks, but I scheduled that appointment when I was 4 weeks 4 days.
