At the risk of sounding like a spoiled brat I have to vent a bit about my baby shower. Now, I'm happy I'm getting one, very lucky to be having a large party, but I am disappointed about how early it is and why it had to be. My MIL is putting it on and she wouldn't do it in February because my SIL would have clinical rotation going on then and may not be able to make it. This is not my SILs baby and I honestly couldn't care less if she were there. She always has to be the center of attention and pulled some pretty immature crap at our wedding shower.  Her backstory is just growing up spoiled and getting her way no matter what. If she wanted a gift on her brothers birthday she would get one even at 22 years old (that type of child). My friends are just going back to work the week before the shower and it is right after the holidays so people have been busy/are still busy with family. I have two friends who can attend where my MILs entire family is coming. I'm extremely bummed because we live 18 hours away now and this would have been the only time I get to see most of them (with the exception of some who will be visiting). I wouldn't have an issue with it if she hadn't asked me when I would like it in the first place and I had said beginning of February because I knew more of my friends would be able to make it.
