The only study that they've shown inconclusivly is that the weight of the baby MIGHT be less at birth. Otherwise there us no proven results of any harm from marijuana. I've been smoking my entire pregnancy as I require it medically or I can't eat. If you're worried about the smoke inhalation (which again hadn't been proven to cause any harm to your baby), then might I suggest edibles. They work perfectly and there is no smoke. You can even make them yourself if you can't find them easily. My doctors are all well aware of my marijuana use and none have any concerns regarding it. They were just happy I informed them. And any drug testing they may perform doesn't include marijuana and wouldn't alert any kind of social services. So just be honest and get valid resources instead of fearful scolding from online :)

You should disclose this to your dr and you should stop

Wtf? Just handle your morning sickness like the rest of us. Being a mom means making sacrifices when needed and giving up selfishness. Here's your first test.

It isn't arguing when you resort to name calling like children. All I can do is find solace in the fact that as mothers, we do what we feel is best for our families. I'm sure your decisions are made from a place of love. As for me, this "idiot" and "fool"...my family is better than this. ✌🏼️

Derived vs actually plant. Like how Chocolate is derived from a plant. Good luck living in your naive world that makes marijuana illegal. Times are'a changin.

This may sound weird but my dr said that if it helps them it helps it can not harm the baby if used in small amounts now if your a heavy smoker taper yourself down so that when you deliver it isn't in your system. I have fibromyalgia and am in constant pain and was told I could smoke if I wanted but I'm allergic to it so I do t. I guess it is based off who and what your Drs beliefs are. Mine is all about baby and mom. Good luck and let us know what your dr says.

I agree that taking weed for pain relief is a help and that's fine but if you're pregnant, it's wrong! People shouldn't be putting the drug into their unborn baby. I don't touch a drop of alcohol when pregnant and I like a drink , soon as I have someone else to think about I give up all my vices.

that's what mine said with my daughter and no one believed me or that they didn't take her from me. differnt states have differnt testing laws on newborns. my doc told me if it helped with my severe nausea he saw nothing wrong with a hit here or there to stop it, as long as I wasn't getting super stoned. he was in his 70s and had been around a time or 800. he said practices have changed a lot over the 40-50 years he'd been practicing but his views never did

Stop smoking. I couldn't eat in my first trimester. That's not a special or rare symptom. Most women get that. I lost 6 pounds in my first trimester. I wasn't going to smoke weed just to eat. Its not safe. And I used to smoke 3-5 times a day before I got pregnant. I just don't agree with drinking/smoking while pregnant.

If you think you ahould stop, and your not sure if it could harm your baby then why wouldn't you stop to be on the safe side?

You are smoking a drug while pregnant. End of story. You can't honestly tell me that you don't think it can harm your baby. If you honestly can you need more prenatal education.

I did smoke for a bit with my kids but I quit after a while and my babies have no health problems what so ever. to each their own. I was just saying prescription drugs are perfectly legal and they cause birth defects more than what marijuana does. every woman's body is different. tho

I am not on a high horse. I just dont agree with doing drugs while being pregnant. Unborn babies are not able to protect themselves. There are many bad things that can happen to babies because of drugs during pregnancy like premature birth, low birth weight, breathing problems, withdrawal, and other congenital defects. Sadly a lot of pot also has other drugs mixed with it. So how do you really know what you are smoking? For the record I never said anything about other medications while pregnant but at least those are regulated by the FDA. I am sorry if I think that every baby should have an opportunity for a healthy childhood. If you think drugs are ok during pregnancy even "just pot" visit a nicu where babies fight for their lives. It may be a surprise to you how many have "just weed" in their tiny bodies. t

I guess it depends on the person. I mean my mom smoked weed with me and she had a more healthier pregnancy. But, I'm not a doctor so you should talk to your doctor, just to be safe!

It hasn't been studied enough to know it's safety in pregnancy. On the other hand, I've heard of women with hyperemesis gravidarum who had healthier babies when they used pot than in their pregnancies when they didn't. If you have HG, there's a whole list of complications that go along with that. So even though pot's safety is still questionable, we know that HG can bad for baby, so you have to weigh which one you think is more risky. I'd personally say that if it's not excessive vomiting, try to get by with other alternatives besides pot. If you do use pot, use a non-smoking version because smoking anything is not good for baby. Oh, and also just fair warning. You just put the words "pot" and "pregnancy" in a post, so be prepared for the onslaught of not so nice comments! All the best; hope you feel better soon. Morning sickness is the WORST!
