HSG test? Increase fertility?

I have my HSG test scheduled for this coming Monday 1/4/16 and I'm super nervous about it as I've heard it can be painful. My hubby and I have been TTC for 3 years with no luck 😔 but luckily my blood work and his semen analysis came back fine. Hoping the HSG test can give us some answers.

I'm curious if anyone experienced fertility after their HSG test? Ive heard it can "clear gunk" out and increase fertility.

So I'm wondering if anyone who has had this test done got pregnant right away after it

And/or

How painful was it???

Make sure you take ibuprofen Before the test! My HSG showed that my right Fallopian tube was blocked and it hurt like a bitch . They put extra fluids to unblock me and my husband couldn't be in the room and the doctor was like "all this for a baby huh" -_- anyways good luck your way I hope it goes well❤️

I have been trying to conceive for two years this month and just had my HSG on Wednesday 12/30/15. It wasn't painful for me...I had some mild cramping when the balloon went in but other than that it felt like a normal pap. Maybe a little pinching but nothing unbearable. A few friends of mine have had different experiences so it's different for everyone. I popped two midol an hour before my procedure and that helped :) it was over before I even knew it had started!!! 
As for fertility, my doctor told me many women conceive afterwards. I'm hoping that's true but am not reading much into it!!

Honestly it is so quick that it is tolerable. Yes it's uncomfortable and "pinchy" but it's over in the blink of an eye. Not to mention..  Child birth will be a lot worse..  Just saying

I had an HSG and a sonohystogram done after a year ttc and got pregnant the next cycle, but that will depend on what is going on in your reproductive system. As for the pain, both procedures were incredibly painful and I have a high pain tolerance. I didn't cry any of the times I've broken a bone but I cried and cussed during both procedures. Take a tylenol (you can't eat prior to an HSG so taking motrin will upset your stomach) beforehand and plan to take it easy the rest of the day. I was sore the next day but the cramps were manageable by then.
