Hospital bag checklist for Aussie mums
I noticed a lot of the lists out there don't cater for Aussie mums and the differences in what our hospitals provide, especially in the public system, so I thought I'd post a list of what I have in mine :)
For labour:
iPod
Bikini for a water birth/the shower
Waterproof camera
Scented oil for my back
Powerade
Eucalyptus drops
Chapstick
For the hospital:
Nursing bra
Lots of stretchy cotton underwear
Breast pads (one box)
2 packs of maternity pads
Body wash (I prefer my own over hospital stuff)
A shower puff
Deodorant
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Hairbrush
Shampoo and conditioner
Hair elastics and bobby pins
scented body butter
Cocoa butter for my stretch marks
Make up
A few pairs of leggings
Flip flops (because if I use the word thongs Americans would be confused)
Loose t shirts
Comfy pjs
A hoodie
Nursing nightie
For baby:
2 packs newborn nappies
Small pack fragrance free wipes
3 pairs of socks
A baby beanie hat
3 singlet suits
A going home outfit
Muslin wrap for the car trip home
Elephant toy to keep her company
I know it sounds like a lot but it all fits in my country road bag :)
