I have a 2.5 year old son from my marriage (divorce will be through soon). He made me and my son homeless and was abusive and so I left. Unfortunately sometimes marriage doesn't have a happily ever after.

I have since found a new partner who treats my son as his own. His "real" dad doesn't bother with him all that much despite all my efforts!

I am trying for my 2nd baby with my partner and it will be his first. Is anyone else in this situation? I sometimes worry he will treat the 2 children differently but he assures me he won't and that he loves my son. He's been around since he was very young.
