Get a court order or not?
A little back story...
Ok so I have a 7 year old daughter. My ex and I are not together but I feel like we have gotten in a better place then we used to be. The first year or two of my daughters life, we broke up at like 6months old, and from then on he only saw her when he felt like it. Then I say she was about 2 and a half, he went to prison and then sat in there for two and half years.
Now I am happily with my fiance and expecting again so I am not sure if my anger is just hormonal or not.
He just bounced back into her life, which before never being there I believe really messed my daughter up. I know as a child and never having her father around per my step father's fault and assholness. I want her to be able to spend time with her father no matter what I think or feel about him. My trust is very thin from over the years but I could never keep him from her.
I want some opinions on what you have done in similar positions. I feel like going to court to make his visitation set in writing is just not in budget right now. I feel like he has been going over board and taking advantage to the fact I want him to spend time with her. The holidays sucked because he and his family had her every single one.
I am thinking of typing up a paper with what we have talked about for his visitation(that only lasts a couple weeks and back to his whatever the h*%% he wants) I also want to get it notarized so it's a legalish document. I'm seriously still want to give him every other weekend and off weeks 2 days per week. Plus we will switch years for holidays. Him odd years, me even. I feel like if we had to go to court then having this document might help make it easier on us. Wondering though would you try this if you could or just take him to court. I mean he is kind of lucky I am trying to give him this much because not many people I know would.
BTW so sorry so long!
