Chest and back acne

Okay I'm 24 years old and have always had a problem with pimples on my chest and back. It's so embarrassing.. Idk how to get rid of it. Sometimes they're little, but every now and then I'll get a monster that is under the skin and so painful. I thought by now it would be cleared up.. I don't get pimples on my face unless I'm about to start my period, even then they're not bad. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? I use scent-free body wash and laundry soap and don't put lotion anywhere except my arms and legs. What do I do?! I'm currently ttc so birth control is out of the question 😩
