How soon before you are able to go back to work postpartum should you apply for jobs?

I work in a boutique, so I still have my job whenever I decide to come back. I just have to find someone to cover me while I'm gone after baby.

Keep in mind that many jobs will set you up with an orientation schedule that they may only offer once a month. My most recent job, I applied, interviewed, & was hired within just a few days. But, I had to wait two weeks after that to begin working because that's when the next orientation was.
