Planned versus Unplanned Pregnancy - Rant
I'm not looking to start a debate or offend anyone, I just need to get this off my chest...
My SO and I aren't married and I'm so sick of people assuming this pregnancy was unplanned or unwanted. I've lost count of the number of people who only congratulate me after I say we are excited and our little peanut was planned.
My SO and I are both 31, have been together for over 4 years, have owned our house for 2 1/2 years and were trying to conceive for 18 months. We made the choice to start our family before getting married which not everyone is okay with but that doesn't mean this baby wasn't planned.
I've been fighting the urge to point out that not all pregnancies for married people are planned. I've known since I was a teenager that I was unplanned - my parents were young, broke and married just a year when I showed up.
We are so excited for our little girl to arrive and I just don't want to spend the rest of my pregnancy defending it.
