The Pill.

I want to go on the pill for the contraceptive reasons but also to help with my periods; but I don't know how to ask my doctor because he's a middle aged male doctor and I don't know how to ask my mum. Do I have to ask my mum ? I'm 16 from Australia.
If anyone knows any advice or something I would really appreciate it xoxo.

Not from Australia but I'm sure you can go to the doctors at 16 without parents knowing.  Doctors are there to help so don't be embarrassed about asking, they won't judge you for making that type of decision, they see many people of all ages each week asking for the same thing.  Good luck x

You don't really need to go on the pill to not get pregnant. There are actually natural ways of birth control. This app (along with some research) can help with that. It is called the fertility awareness method and has been working for me for two years now. As for the bleeding, my periods got lighter and I had a lot less cramping after I ditched tampons/pads and started using a menstral cup. Good luck. BTW in the US your doctor can discuss your visit with your mom until you're 18.

So long as you chart your temps and cervical fluid correctly it is just as effective as the pill. You also have to pay very close attention to your fertile days to make sure you're using protection if you decide to have sex.

You have to know your cycle really well for it to work. That's how I had my daughter.

I dont know what the laws are in australia, but here in canada you can see your doctor without a parent starting at like 13. As for feeling awkward asking your doctor, you just need to get over that. Just remember that they are not there to judge you about your decisions, they are there to help you make the best decisions for your health. If your doctor does get judgemental with you, then maybe you need to get anew  doctor.
