Should men have an opinion?

Question

About abortions and pregnancies and whether or not a woman uses painkillers during labor, it just never made sense to me how men could possibly have an opinion. They don't have to shit out a kid. How could they know enough to have an opinion.

In my opinion, men aren't entitled to an opinion about these things.

And I know it's an awful thing to say someone isn't entitled to an opinion, but it's also kind of awful for a man to try and dictate what a woman does with her uterus.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you ladies thought.

A lot of you think I meant the father. Of course the father has a say. I'm talking about men on social media who argue about this stuff in a generalized way. Not about their partners and unborn children of course.

Of course men (or people who haven't/can't get pregnant) can have an opinion. Doesn't mean it has to or should be taken seriously.

If a person has never been pregnant, I just disregard their opinion on any matter concerning pregnancy.

The only exception to this is my doctor.

It's perfectly fine to have an opinion, but they cannot force a woman to undergo anything she doesn't want to. 
Painkillers? I'm certain the women knows is she needs them or doesn't need them. 
Abortion? In a perfect world the sperm supplier's thoughts and opinions would be taken into consideration all the time, but they aren't and it will remain that way. A woman has a right to bodily autonomy, and if you give the men the ability to FORCE a woman to remain pregnant you are taking away HER RIGHTS, and giving men much more. Once men have the ability to force a woman to be pregnant, that opens doors for them to be able to force abortion or adoption. Among many other things that can be done to a child.

Of course I highly reccomend that you communicate and try to be considerate to your spouse or partner, in the end a woman has a right to her body and no one should be able to force her to do or take anything she doesn't want.

Men who are somehow are effected directly by the birth of the baby should be able to influence the women's ideas but should not control then. Ex1) Husband tells wife she should get painkillers because last time she broke his hand Ex2) dad tells 16 y/o daughter if she doesn't want an abortion she doesnt have to get one saying he will watch the kid if she wants to keep it.

Men who are not effected directly by the birth of the baby should not have a sayy in what the woman does. 
Ex) random person tells woman who is in no way related to him that abortion is sin so she can't have one

But just as a counter point (as a uterus owner myself) by that logic women shouldn't have opinions on circumcision or prostate cancer because women (as in vagina owners) do not own penises.

Pain killers during birth? No. Abortion and pregnancy? When it comes to their child, absolutely. It's crazy to me how women seem to forget, the life they are carrying isn't just her's. Men are just as entitled to an opinion and for it to be considered as women are when it comes to THEIR child. And honestly, I find it sad that most women don't think they do.

If he's going to carry the baby then he can have the deciding factor as to what to do with it. If not then it's the mothers decision. If he doesn't want the kid(s) he can sign his rights over.

Painkillers n how she gives birth is 100% the womans deal n the man doesnt have a say or an opinion. Because theres men n women out there that say women who has an epidural done isnt really a mother n didnt really give birth because the edge was taken off of this very extremely painful experience. Abortions are case by case but ultimately it is the womens decision regardless of what anyone(including father) says. Its her body. Her uterus. Her health. Men can give their opinions but cant say 'because i think it should be this way thats how itll be' it doesnt affect them. Physically they are unaffected.

Well, yes and no. 
Painkillers during labor NO. They aren't going through it. They have no say in that. 
Pregnancy... You mean getting pregnant in the first place? Yes of course. Forcing a child on a man by tricking him into getting you pregnant is one of the worst things you an do to him AND the child. 
Abortion, yes and no. Yes, it's your body, but that's also his kid. I could not imagine if I got an abortion what kind of damage that would do to my husband. Unless it was rape or a terrible situation, you made the mutual decision to spread your legs, you make the mutual decision what to do with the consequences. This is why you should talk about this kind of stuff BEFORE ever having sex with someone. My husband knew I was never on birth control and that there was a greater risk to me getting pregnant when we started dating, but we discussed before we ever did anything what we would do should a happy accident occur. A one night stand or a guy that hurt you or something sure, do what you want. But if you are in a relationship with the guy, out of respect for him he should have some pull in the decision.
