Idk what to make of this

Me and my husband separated for a few months and he messed around with not 1 but 2 girls both knew our situation and knew what was going on, we later took it upon ourselves to fix our marriage. I forgave him and he forgave me. We usually don't talk about what happened and how we feel about it but today we did. And I felt like we were getting some closure, but then he says to me that I wasn't the only one he hurt. He says the others are humans and feelings too. I'm just confused on how to feel about that. Bc before he would say he didn't care about them and that they were just there. In a sense that's true but should I have sympathy for them?
