Can position be a factor of getting pregnant as well as baby gender?

My doctor told me I have retroveted uterus while most of the women have anteverted uterus. And I have to be on doggy position to improve the chance of getting pregnant? 
So are you retroveted or anteverted?

I have a retroverted uterus and have never heard such a thing, nor have I ever had any problem getting pregnant. Got pregnant this time missionary. That is just crazy talk.

Certain positions can get your partner closer to your cervix but sperm can get to your tubes within seconds anyway. As far as gender, the sperm that carries the extra X chromosome is slower but last longer and the sperm that carries the extra Y chromosome is faster but dies sooner. So it's possible and a theory that the timing of intercourse could produce a boy or girl. ( y or X chromosome )
