Will an itchy stomach lead to stretch marks?

I'm only 5wks pregnant but lately my stomach as been itching off and on and I've been scratching it..is that bad? Should I stop? I'm thinking of buying some palmers stretch cream, do you think it's too early to start using it?

You'll either get them or you won't. Special creams won't prevent them. Moisturize for the itchy dry skin though.

Use it now. And my doctor always said do not scratch because it can make stretch marks worse ( I found out the hard way baby #1 no stretch marks #2 didn't use creams itched and scratched like crazy got tons of huge ones. Baby 3 used it again no new stretch marks. I won't say it will prevent them but the pressure of scratching my skin did cause mine to worsen

Stretch marks mostly depend on your family. If your mom has stretch marks and so forth, most likely you will too. I used every trick in the book to try not to get stretch marks and still did.
